Philips Senseo Coffee Maker Review

The Philips Senseo HD7810 coffee maker is very well made. The plastic is high quality and the pieces fit together very well. It's sturdy and the design is great.
This machine is very well designed and very well made. The buttons are simple and have a nice feel to them. Everything is easy to use and very intuitive. Just select one coffee pod or two, then select the appropriate pod-holder (there's a holder for one pod and a holder for two), close the lid, fill the reservoir, and off you go. Easy.
The Philips Senseo coffee maker uses Douwe Egberts coffee pods. It arrived with 36 pods, 18 "Medium Roast" and 18 "Light Roast". The pods are available at Amazon.com.
You can brew one or two cups of coffee with the Philips Senseo HD7810. Just fill up the detachable reservoir and press the "one cup" or "two cup" button. If you select two, the cups will brew one after the other. There is no timer for this unit.
The Senseo brews the best cup of coffee I've had in my home. The coffee has a frothy layer on top that tastes great. It's very smooth, not bitter at all. And with the coffee pod system there are never any grounds in the coffee.
The Philips Senseo HD7810 is very easy to clean. The metal piece(s) that hold the coffee pods lift out very easily and are clean just by running water over them. The reservoir detaches and fits into the dishwasher easily.
Great design. The Philips Senseo HD7810 is very stylish. It looks very cool sitting on my kitchen counter, very modern. People ask what it is and are drawn to it. It would look out of place only in a very traditionally decorated kitchen. The Philips Senseo coffee maker is not compact - in fact it's fairly large - but it's lightweight and easy to move. The unit looks so good that I don't mind the size at all.
