Melitta One:One Coffee Maker Review

The Melitta One:One appears sturdy. I have some concerns about the water tank, which must be snapped into place and may get wear and tear from frequent use.
Closing the Melitta One:One's lid and water tank takes some pressure, but there is a definite click when closed properly. The buttons are easy to push and responsive. At first, I did not have the manual and tried brewing a pod of coffee on my own. I put the pod in the wrong part of the holder and got very weak coffee as a result. Once I brewed properly, the process was easy.
Melitta One:One coffee makers use pods. Mine arrived with nine pods: six coffee and three tea pods. Only one of the coffee pods was decaf, and since I drink decaf coffee, I
ordered more coffee pods from Amazon.com
.
One problem with the Melitta One:One is that it accepts only a single pod. I have a preference for a mix of regular and decaf coffee. Since there is no half-caffeinated pod option, I will have to brew two cups, using two pods, and mix them afterward. For every-day use, this could get expensive.
There is no way to program the Melitta One:One in advance. That would be a good feature. The water tank is removable and can accommodate 24 ounces, or three small cups.
The unit did brew a good cup of coffee, a little better than my other coffeemaker. The drip rate was even and the whole process was speedy. No problem with grounds. There was a slight problem with dripping after I removed the cup.
The Melitta One:One coffee maker is easy to clean. Most removable parts can be put in the dishwasher. I find I need to clean the drip tray frequently.
The unit is very current and stylish. It has a streamlined, high tech appearance. The base is rather large and might be a problem on a small, crowded counter.
