Cuisinart Two To Go Coffee Maker Review

Rating for the Cuisinart Two To Go Coffee Maker: Construction: 4, Functionality: 4, Usability: 5, Appearance: 5

  1. Coffee Maker Construction
Staying true to the quality of Cuisinart products, the Two to Go is simple but well made. It is very lightweight plastic, and they kept the moving parts to a minimum, so there is not much damage you can do while working it. There are two insulated mugs that come with it that work very well and are nice and sturdy.

  2. Coffee Maker Controls and Usability
This coffeemaker is extremely easy to work. You fill it with water and coffee, place the mug(s) under the spout, and push one button. When it's finished, it turns itself off. I like the way the top lid over the reservoir slightly catches on the way down to make sure you don't slam it shut, and the way there are indentations on the base to hold the mugs perfectly in place under the spout.

  3. Coffee Maker Water Reservoir and Special Features
The Cuisinart Two To Go is very simple. There are no programmable features - it really is a "push a button, make a cup" kind of coffee maker. The cool thing is that it will make the coffee directly into any to-go mug. It will also accommodate two mugs at a time, so both you and your partner can jet to work with a steaming cup of joe.

  4. Coffee Pods or Filters
The Cuisinart Two to Go requires #2 paper filters. It came with 3 filters included, which was great because I didn't have any of that size in my house. Also, you need to run the unit with just water and a filter to clean it before you brew any coffee.

  5. Coffee Quality
I was very impressed with the coffee this maker brewed. It's fast, but stayed very clean with no messy grounds. I used filtered drinking water for a better tasting cup, since the unit does not have any kind of water filter. The real challenge I ran into was figuring out the optimal amount of grounds to use. The manual suggests 3-4 teaspoons per cup, but that makes a mighty strong cup of coffee. Not that I'm complaining.

  6. Ease of Cleaning
This coffee maker only has 3 removable parts: the filter holder, and the two mugs. It's very easy to clean. Of course, the entire unit needs de-calcification once in awhile, just like any other coffee maker.

  7. Coffee Maker Design and Appearance
I like how light and compact this coffee maker is. It's perfect for a little apartment or dorm room that doesn't have much counter space. Since the few parts are easy to clean, you don't even need a full sink setup to keep it sparkling. The coffee maker is a sleek black with silver and black to-go mugs. The look is very modern and unobtrusive. I think it would fit in just about anywhere. Plus the sleek to-go mugs in hand make you look like you have very important places to get to.
