The Gist From Our Review Team:

The Philips Senseo HD7810 makes perhaps the best-tasting coffee of any pod-based single cup coffee maker we've reviewed. As one reviewer points out, the Senseo HD7810 brews a cup with a slightly "frothy layer on top that tastes great", a bit like an espresso's.

the phillips senseo HD7810 coffee makerThe Senseo HD7810 is a very stylish, cool-looking machine that will, in the words of one of our reviewers, "look out of place only in a very traditionally-decorated kitchen". It does, however, have quite a large footprint, taking up as much space on the counter as more traditional coffee makers that brew into pots. On the upside, its size lends the Senseo some sturdiness, and despite its size, the Senseo is light enough to be moved easily when necessary.

The Senseo is very easy to use and clean with, as one reviewer points out, "3 buttons and 3 removable parts", including a removable water reservoir that fits easily into a dishwasher. The Philips Senseo HD7810 can brew a cup of coffee in approximately one minute.

The Philips Senseo HD7810 ships with 36 Douwe-Egberts medium and light roast coffee pods. Douwe-Egberts makes pods that range in strength from light to dark. As of July 2004, those pods are available for around $17 for a 72-pack, or roughly $.24 per pod. Our reviewers, coffee junkies that they are, recommend the dark roast coffee pods for flavor.
