The Gist From Our Review Team:
The Cuisinart Two To Go, unlike most of the other coffee makers reviewed here, can brew one or two cups at a time. The rounded indentations on the base simplify cup placement so that the travel mugs that ship with the unit are properly positioned under the coffee downspouts, regardless of how many cups are being brewed.
The quality of the coffee is excellent, on a par with any good filter-based coffee maker. Because it is filter-based, the Cuisinart Two To Go brews a bit more slowly than pod-based coffee makers, clocking in at 5 minutes for a cup (slightly longer for 2 cups) as opposed to the 1-2 minutes more typical of pod-based models.
The Cuisinart Two To Go coffee maker is, true to the Cuisinart name, simple and well-made. It accepts #2 filters and ships with a small package of them in case you don't have any on hand. The coffee filter holder is removable, and has a handle for easy carrying and cleaning. The water reservoir is not removable, but there are clearly labeled "1" and "2" water levels, corresponding to the number of cups you want to brew.
The two 14 oz. stainless steel travel mugs that ship with the Cuisinart Two To Go fit into most car cup holders, as advertised. The unit itself is built tall specifically to accommodate travel mugs. You may substitute your own travel mug for the ones that ship with the unit so long as they're approximately the same size (most travel mugs are).
Overall, given that it ships with two travel mugs, the unit is an excellent value at around $30, especially considering the quality of the coffee.
